This may be slightly controversial for some, but it’s correct. People who are overweight are starving. They aren’t starving themselves of food and calories, but they are starving their body of the vital vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs. If they were giving the body the vitamins and minerals it needs, then they wouldn’t overeat and they wouldn’t be overweight.
Your body doesn’t care whatsoever about calories. You don’t have a calorimeter in your body which tells your body it has to run on a certain amount of calories. What your body does need to run efficiently is the macronutrients protein, fat and carbohydrates and also vitamins and minerals.
You could eat 10,000 calories of junk food per day, but your body will still be starving of the vitamins and minerals it needs and it will still send out hunger signals to eat more food.
Imagine being on a worksite and you need the materials to build houses. A hundred trucks turn up but when you open them they are empty. You ring the head office and order some more trucks but again the trucks turn up empty. You get on the phone again and order some more trucks to bring you materials but again they are empty.
This is like eating junk food. No matter how many calories you eat, if they are empty calories your body will keep sending out signals for more. The only way to stop overeating is to feed your body the vitamins and minerals it needs through eating fresh whole natural foods.
Unfortunately we have lost the ability to listen to our body and give it what it needs. When we feel hunger we eat without ever giving it a thought for what our body needs. Our body might need magnesium, zinc or vitamin C and is sending out hunger signals for these but we go out and eat junk food instead. Not long later your body will send out more hunger signals as the body didn’t get what it needed.
What our body is crying out for is not calories, it is vitamin and mineral rich foods, however, most of the time we feed our body with nutrient dead high calorie foods which is why we feel hungry regularly. Only once all the vitamins and minerals your body needs are stocked up will it stop sending out hunger signals all the time.
Being overweight is essentially a sign that your body is starving of nutrients. Because your body isn’t getting what it needs it keeps telling you to eat but unfortunately if you keep giving your body the wrong foods it keeps sending out more signals to eat which leads to you overeating and gaining weight.
The most effective thing do to in order to lose weight is to eat fresh whole natural foods and in particular lots of vegetables. These foods are vitamin and mineral rich which will help you to lose weight rapidly whilst also reducing your hunger.
Eating lots of vegetables won’t cure your hunger straight away though. This will only happen when your vitamin levels are stocked up fully. In fact you might feel hungrier at the start when you begin eating fresh whole natural foods. This is because you are now giving your body what it needs and your body sends out even more hunger signals to tell you to keep eating these foods as these are the foods it needs to be healthy. Your body doesn’t care at all about calories it just wants to get the vitamins and minerals it needs to work efficiently and through sending out more hunger signals it wants you to eat more of these good foods more often so your body can become healthy quicker. Unfortunately people mistake these signs to eat more good foods as signs that they are craving junk food. Hunger is just a sign that your body needs nutrition, it is how you interpret these signs which leads to what food you eat. If you have been accustomed to eating junk food in the past when you are hungry then you are mentally programmed to eat junk food when you feel hunger. You need to take control of your brain and consciously override the desire to eat junk and realise when you are hungry your body is telling you it wants vitamin and mineral rich foods. Your body is telling you it is starving of the vital nutrients your body needs in order to function optimally.
Just because you are eating lots of food and lots of calories and you are overweight doesn’t mean your body isn’t starving. Your body is just as likely to be starving from the vital nutrients it need as a starving child in Africa. The only difference is an overweight person eats lots of empty calories, but both are essentially starving of vital nutrients.
Unfortunately starving children in Africa have little choice when it comes to nutrition. You have the choice to feed your body what it is crying out for. You have the ability to stop your body starving of the vital nutrients it needs to perform optimally. Once you start feeding your body what it needs through eating lots of fresh whole natural food and in particular lots of vegetables as these contain the highest amounts of vitamins and minerals, then your body will begin to work more efficiently and you will lose weight simply and easily.
Weight loss and living a healthy life is simple. Remove the threats which are holding you back and give your body what it needs to function optimally.
